Throughout the history of our firm, we have represented several municipalities
within DeKalb County from the largest of cities to the smallest of drainage
districts. We have served as general counsel to several villages, townships and
districts -- attending meetings regularly -- and thus, we have a solid working
knowledge of how local government works in DeKalb County. We provide assistance
both to the governing council or board and to staff employed by local
government. Drafting Ordinances, Intergovernmental Cooperation Agreements,
Annexation Agreements, Employment Agreements and agreements with developers,
contractors, engineers, etc., is a regular part of our practice. We maintain a
strong local presence in the field of Municipal Law and are regularly called
upon to represent both local governmental bodies and individuals involved in
the issues that confront them in this area. We handle condemnation cases on
behalf of local governmental bodies and on behalf of individuals affected by the
actions of local government.
